Last week the news was published that two of the core developers of the CakePHP project had split and yesterday those developers launched their new project: Lithium. Lithium is a fork of the CakePHP 3 branch, fully focussed on PHP 5.3. Check the announcement for more information.

Matthew Weier O'Phinney has just announced the release of Zend Framework 1.9.4, which is available immediately. This release is a bugfix release. A full list of closed issues can be found here.

Today is a new version of the recently released Zend Framework 1.8 branch. This new release comes 8 days after the release of 1.8.0, but it already contains 68 new bug fixes. The most important is the fact that an incorrect version 1.8 of Dojo is included. In 1.8.1 is the correct version 1.8 comes. More information is here .

De nieuwste versie van Zend Framework, versie 1.7, is sinds vandaag beschikbaar. De grote nieuwe features voor deze release zijn:

• AMF integratie
• jQuery integratie
• Twitter integratie

Daarnaast zijn er de nodige bugfixes doorgevoerd. Deze release is voor de phpGG extra belangrijk omdat de BugHuntDay die we recentelijk met phpBelgium organiseerden direct heeft bijgedragen aan deze versie van Zend Framework.

Het symfony framework heeft gisteren de eerste beta beschikbaar gesteld van hun nieuwe 1.2 lijn. Dat heeft de release manager van versie 1.2, Fabian Lange, aangekondigd. Na deze beta volgen mogelijk nog een of twee beta's waarna de Release Candidate(s) volgt. Nog dit jaar moet de stabiele 1.2 uitkomen.
